In recent years, we’ve seen healthcare construction focus largely on neighborhood-centric care facilities. In Rockford, MI and Muskegon, MI, our team worked with Spectrum Health to complete two new Integrated Care Campuses (ICC). For community members, the ICCs are conveniently located and offer a wide range of healthcare services needed to serve an entire population – from pediatric diabetes and internal medicine to laboratory services and outpatient rehabilitation. Cherry Health’s Wyoming Community Health Center, which Rockford completed in March, offers a similar concept with dental, vision, family medicine and counseling all in one, easy-to-access, neighborhood location.
One of the many benefits to these newer, community-based healthcare centers is that they promote easy access to comprehensive, quality healthcare services which are vital to community well-being. Access is necessary for promoting health, preventing disease, as well as treating and managing existing conditions.
In an effort to expand the services offered in one community healthcare center, The Wellness Plan worked with Rockford this year to add a dental office to its Detroit, MI location. Speaking about the importance of the addition, Anthony King, CEO of The Wellness Plan says, “our new dental clinic in the East Medical Center location expands access to high-quality, affordable dental care which is paramount to the continuum of health and overall dignity of the patients we are privileged to serve.”
